Ideas Behind Our Goals
Pro-Free Market
Our group supports free market solutions for health care. We believe government regulation and control leads to poor outcomes for consumers. Real free markets are markets where the powerful, be they individuals, unions or businesses, do not have the ability to buy special favors which distort markets. Thus, we are against corporate welfarism. We are feel that socialist medical models inevitably lead to both economic and social bad outcomes.
Pro-Compassion
Our group believes strongly in compassion. We believe that a culture of freedom and responsibility is the best culture in which to nurture compassion. We support the philanthropy and volunteerism of families and local communities. We believe that with the growth of government, these natural spontaneous groups wither, and with it, our culture withers.
Pro-Individual Freedom & Responsibility
We support the rights of other people to practice forms of medicine with which we, as individual members, may disagree, as long as individuals are not coerced or deceived into receiving that health care. We also support individual choices on how to spend their money and where to take their chances. With this freedom, however, comes the heavy burden of responsibility. We believe that people must no break agreed contracts with other individuals without consequences. We also believe people, in the end, must bear the responsibilities of their choices.
Many Solutions
Our group does not pretend to know the answers to health care needs. But we trust that a government which allows a true free market in the health area will secure the chance of finding the best balance between individual responsibility, prosperity and happiness. Because our economic system is not a true free market, our present health care options are full of problems.
