Below are ways of helping to preserve and enlarge health freedom. Compassion is the most important of all the ways. Most of us on this site view compassion ("agape" love, in New Testament Greek) to be essential to real personal happiness and meaning in life. Thus we are listing it as the primary way to be involved. Many people view Free-Market advocates as purely selfish people. However, most philanthropy flows for capitalists. We believe that free-market compassion in the most vital way to supply the best care to the most people.

We believe that philanthropy should be born from volunteerism. Several studies show that when a government takes on caring for the needy, volunteerism withers and culture along with it. Thus as free-market advocates, though we too are tired by wasted high taxation, we must emphasize giving along with responsibility to keep a balanced inner life and a persuasive political life. Participate in the AAPA

The AAPA has a highly vocal and influential anti-free-market coalition. Nonetheless, the AAPA invites a variety of voices and encourages dialogue. To this end, we are hopeful of having a meaningful input into the AAPA. Please join the AAPA and join our group. If our members or sympathetic members are on committees, give talks or run organizations, our influence may help keep the AAPA from being a one-sided political caucus.

Learn the arguments to support solution listed on the site. Point out these solutions when people discuss health care issues. You'd be surprised how little people have heard about these options. You will be doing a public service and perhaps affecting future votes.

Defeat Laws Forbidding Alternative Medicine

Many effective treatment modalities exist outside of orthodox medicine. Likewise, ineffective and even dangerous treatments exist too. Nonetheless, we support the individual's right to choose how they treat their own body. LAWS are not the way to change medicine - education and free choice are. Orthodox medicine today is highly in debt to several alternative traditions. Please support everyone's free choice of health care, even if you don't agree with their decision. Such freedom leads to more information, a prosperous society and a life worth living.
